Festitalia Virtual Festival 45th Celebration Program is made possible due to the collaboration of partners and funding organizations.   Festitalia appreciates your support of our efforts so that we can continue to plan an innovative Festitalia Festival program to showcase Italian Canadian heritage in the City of Hamilton.  For Festitalia, the community-at-large is as important to the success of the festival as its Italian community participants.

From a downtown Hamilton tiny storefront to our latest 75,000 square foot store, Fortinos approach to business has not changed. Italian immigrant John Fortino opened his first store in 1961 in downtown Hamilton, with the promise of good, fresh food, competitive prices, a clean & organized environment, and excellent service. Supported by hard working family and staff, plus loyal customers and communities, the business prospered.

Today the Loblaw‐owned Fortinos banner has 23 stores across the GTA reflecting leading edge development in supermarket innovation while remaining true to our founder’s philosophy. A huge commitment to community programs, non profit organizations and local fundraising initiatives is at the heart of Fortinos goals. Support to foodbanks, charity fundraising for kids clubs and non‐profit organizations, and individual store initiatives address current and ongoing community needs.

For over 55 years, Fortinos has successfully served our communities with policies that source locally & responsibly, protect the environment, celebrate health & diversity, and foster positive, personal relationships with customers. The City of Hamilton

The City’s vision “To be the best place to raise a child and age successfully”reflects the kind of city Hamiltonians want to aspire to become.

(It means having an inclusive community, actively engaged in making Hamilton a better place for everyone. It is creating an accessible environment, supporting residents through all of life’s stages, and one that encourages positive development of children as they grow towards becoming healthy adults and seniors.)

 City of Hamilton Priorities

The City of Hamilton’s seven priorities are a result of the nearly 55,000 resident conversations that took place as part of the Our Future Hamilton: Communities in Conversationinitiative that asked one simple question, “What is your vision for the future of Hamilton?” and 3,200 internal staff conversations around what was important to us as an organization.

By adopting the Our Future Hamiltonpriorities, and adding a seventh priority focused on supporting our employees, the City illustrated its commitment to the achievement of the community vision,Our Future Hamilton.

  1. Community Engagement and Participation
  2. Economic Prosperity and Growth
  3. Healthy and Safe Environments
  4. Clean and Green
  5. Built Environment and Infrastructure
  6. Culture and Diversity
  7. Our People and Performance
