Festitalia is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to developing and promoting, within the City of Hamilton, a festival of significant cultural impact. Our purpose is to share and celebrate Italian culture and heritage with the broader community.
The Board of Directors is currently seeking applications and nominations from individuals interested in serving on Festitalia’s volunteer Board. Successful candidates will be elected at Festitalia’s Annual General Meeting in March 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
Prospective candidates must:
a) Be a minimum of 18 years of age
b) Be of Italian descent
c) Demonstrate a passion for Italian culture, heritage, art, music, literature, sport, and food
d) Be willing to volunteer time to help organize and deliver events
e) Be willing to promote Festitalia’s events and initiatives within their personal and professional networks
f) Contribute positively and collaboratively at Board meetings with the shared goal of advancing the Festitalia brand
g) Represent Festitalia at events or meetings when called upon
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who:
a) Have previous board experience, particularly in the not-for-profit sector
b) Have experience in board governance and policy development
c) Have experience in program or event management and logistics
d) Have experience in digital communications and marketing
e) Are fluent in Italian (an asset but not a requirement)
Term & Additional Information
Board members are expected to serve a minimum of two (2) two-year terms, to a maximum of 10 years.
Festitalia provides Directors’ and Officers’ liability insurance for all Board members.
